Emotional issues
We all have the emotional issues that need working on. From whether you were separated from your mother at birth (most of us were) to having alcoholic or otherwise 'checked out' parents, where healthy attention to you was the least of their concerns.
Yes, many of us grew up in a very harsh environment that may even take decades to fully heal. But do not despair, maybe this healing journey is the one we elected to take, on some level, to learn, understand fully and experience the concepts that heal and free us from the wounding of that emotional neglect.
That emotional neglect is the cause of your 'bad habits' - eating when full, drinking a little too much, staying in an unhealthy job or relationship, it all stems from that original wounding. And the only way out is for you yourself to find and implement what you love to do in life, along with delving into the healing process.
Read self-help books, join classes, meet with like minded people and above all be aware of your actions and reactions, notice patterns in your life; such as, the issue of rejection keeps coming up - that is literally so you can explore and heal this experience of 'rejection'.
This is certainly not the mainstream way of looking at or approaching life. The mainstream way will have you stuck in your 'bad habits' and leave you feeling there is no way to break those temporary fix mechanisms and replace them with something better.
So many people are leaving the mainstream thinking in search of that 'better way'. Women are giving birth standing up or squatting, or in water, finding it a better experience. They are holding their newborns continually as nature intended.
People are giving up eating when full, detoxing, and reducing or giving up smoking and drinking.
Invasive procedures seen as commonplace are being replaced by holistic, nurturing systems of healing and health maintenance.
